The Challenge of eAdoption in the East Midlands
East Midlands Small Business eAdoption Survey 2005
The East Midlands Small Business e-Adoption Survey 2005 is the third in a series of reports commissioned by the East Midlands Development Agency. As in previous years the survey reports on the progress being made and the attitudes towards current and future eAdoption by the region’s small business population. New for this year are Sections that exam the importance of ebusiness, integration of ebusiness processes and provides an insight into ‘The Opportunity for the East Midlands region’.
The survey took place during May and June 2005 and interviewed by telephone 2000 SMEs (small to medium size business) from across the region. Results are provided by county, sector, size and where possible comparisons are given to previous year’s findings. The following areas of interest are examined in detail:
- Progression of business along the eAdoption Ladder
- Broadband
- Integration of eBusiness Technologies
- The Value of eBusiness
- Future Adoption
- Skills and Training
- Awareness and Use of eBusiness Advice
- The Opportunity for the East Midlands
The findings for the 2005 survey may be viewed via number of innovative and flexible methods:
- A fully indexed and key word searchable final report that may be viewed online.
- A pdf version of the report that may be downloaded or printed off in full or by Section.
- A diagrammatic (statistical) report providing a concise summary of statistical findings.
- A web based ‘search the results tool’, allowing users to select certain criteria and search the database for the results, for example how many Hotels and Restaurants with 1-4 employees have broadband within Northamptonshire.
