A 2-day introduction workshop aimed at novice users or those not yet using social media.

Do you want to use social media in your business but are unsure where to begin? Have you heard the buzz around Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube and Google+ but are uncertain how to use it for your business?  Or maybe you are nervous about using social media for your business and need help getting started?  If the answer to these questions is yes - then this is the workshop for you!

The workshop will cover:

  • An introduction to social media, learn why social media is vital to your business and why it is no longer optional  
  • Using social media for your business - explore the many ways you can exploit the power of social media to benefit your business
  • Customer segmentation, demographics and creating customer profiles - a hands-on exercise identifying who your customers are and where you can find them.  Create your own customer profile unique to your business
  • Branding and brand values:  Identify your brand and company values and discover why this determines your “tone of voice” for all your future social media marketing activity
  • Get started with “The Big Six” social media sites:  Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google+ - an interactive combination of presentations, discussions and live demonstrations to get you started on social networking sites and address your questions
  • Benefits and pitfalls of social media – using examples and case studies, learn what works and what to avoid doing in your social media activity
  • What to say - writing engaging content:  Learn the difference between contentcreation  and content curation.  Start writing content that gets you noticed
  • Time saving tips – hear insider tips and techniques and learn how to use a social media dashboard to optimise your time
  • Setting goals and objectives – learn why setting SMART goals are vital to the success of your social media marketing
  • Create your own a social media strategy – using our Social Media Strategy Template, you will create your own unique social media strategy for your business

Workshop outcome:

At the end of the two day workshop you will:

  • Understand how social media works and determine how you can use it in your business
  • Discover the pros and cons of the various social media platforms and why it’s not “one size fits all”
  • Develop an understanding of the types of communication and language you should use within social media
  • Have your own Social Media Strategy for your business which you can use immediately 

Please Note:

  • That your business must be registered with HMRC and has less than 250 employees
  • Only one delegate per company per workshop
  • Businesses must be based in an eligible area (see eligibility criteria)
