Overview

Your web marketing strategy is all about Words. Getting information to your customers and prospects, promoting your business in the media, selling to your customers: it’s all about using carefully crafted and persuasive words. It’s just as important as optimising, pay per click campaigns, and other advertising technologies.

This fast moving session is designed to give you tips and techniques for improving your business performance on the web. We will be looking at new technologies such as blogs, technologies you may not have used before such as online press releases, and providing you with inspiration to write great copy for your website.

A Blog (or “weblog”) is a web publishing tool that allows your business to quickly, inexpensively and easily add fresh content to your website. Blogs are being used by small businesses to market new services and products, get feedback from customers, and provide quick updates to your website.

This session is a quick guide to understanding, creating and managing a blog as a business and marketing tool for your company.

Session 2 10:15 – 11:15 Press Releases on the Web

Have you launched a new product? Reached a company milestone? Won a new contract? Press releases are a powerful online marketing tactic that could generate invaluable media coverage. An article or an editorial reference about your new product, website, or announcement in a prominent publication can assist in achieving your business objectives.

This session will show you how to use press releases on the web.

Session 3 11:30 – 12:30 Writing Great Web Copy

You have 15 seconds to catch the attention of a visitor to your Web site. Great web copy gives your visitors a reason to stick around and, more important, to return to your site because it enables you to build a relationship of trust.

This session is for you if you are writing copy for your new website, or trying to give your old website some sparkle. Maybe you are not a writer, but it has landed on your shoulders to develop some content. This session will cover:
