Assured Solutions Limited (ASL) is a family-owned chemical manufacturing business. It makes and distributes cleaning and maintenance products to the own-label reseller market. It produces a wide range of products, from kitchen cleaners to floor, toilet and vehicle care solutions, along with industrial and odour care products, dispensers and liquid soap.

Research and development is at the core of every product it creates. Its development team has more than 60 years’ experience in the chemical industry and through collaboration with laboratories around the world, the company provides a vast array of testing and product analysis, including colour and perfume matching.

The Challenge
ASL believes that to continue to be the market leaders in its field, it’s important to invest in the future. The market it operates in is highly-competitive, so it’s important that the business remains flexible enough to act on customer feedback, so it can continue to fulfil their requirements.

ASL undertook a major project to relocate its manufacturing plant from Dudley, in the West Midlands, to Leicestershire. On the back of the move, it wanted to introduce a host of technology solutions into the business to help automate its processes, increase productivity and make the business more efficient. It also wanted to bolster security at its new site with the installation of a new CCTV system.

Digital Growth Programme Solution
We provided grant funding of £24,500, which enabled the firm to introduce and install a host of technology solutions. These included automated machines on the production line, new software which enabled it to streamline production, order processing and stock control, and a comprehensive new security system. In addition, ASL also accessed funding from the Collaborate project, this funding helped them relocate their manufacturing plant from Dudley to Leicester and buy a semi-automatic filling machine

The Impact
The new system has improved productivity, allowing ASL to increase the volume of orders it can take and process. As a result, it has doubled its production capacity. The firm has also created three new jobs to support the new business coming in, fulfil the increased demand, and ensure its new processes run efficiently.
