Eight Days a Week Print Solutions is a marketing services provider which specialises in personalised print and direct mail. The Nottingham-based company supports clients by delivering data solutions, postal optimisation, response handling, market insight and competitor research to provide an end-to-end single source bespoke communications service. It harnesses its expertise and knowledge as a printer to help deliver engaging, responsive and cost effective direct mail marketing and advertising campaigns.

The Challenge


The company engaged with the Digital Growth Programme after hearing about funding opportunities available to SMEs in Nottingham. As a traditional commercial print house, it was looking to diversify into market sectors other than pharmaceutical, where the majority of its work came from. It needed a fresh USP and was looking to reposition itself as a marketing and communications solutions provider to differentiate itself from its competitors.

Digital Growth Programme Solution
We provided grant funding of £2,500 towards the purchase of new data hygiene and postal sortation software, enabling it to provide SMEs with access to cost-effective, personalised direct mail campaigns. The software allows the company to deliver the type of services normally provided only by large corporates, to large corporates. Marketing staff also attended a series of workshops to enhance their skills and better promote the company’s new range of services online. 

The Impact
The software has enabled the company to move into new market sectors including garden centres and retail, gaining 20 new customers as a result. It has also increased its production capacity by 25%, to more than 10m units-a-year, taking on two new members of staff to service that growth.
