CTO Sam appointed IT Consultant for Digital Growth Programme

Air‐IT is delighted to announce that Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Sam Reed has been appointed as a Consultant of the Digital Growth Programme to deliver Cyber Security, Remote Working and Cloud Computing workshops to support SMEs in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester and Leicestershire.

About the Digital Growth Programme

Formerly known as the eBusiness Club, the Digital Growth Programme is managed by the East Midlands Chamber which operates in the counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Digital Growth Programme aims to help small and medium enterprises adopt and embrace new and emerging technologies.

With 22 differently titled action‐planning workshops, the programme is set to deliver 340 workshops for the D2N2 area (Derby and Nottingham) and 240 for LLEP (Leicester) by 2019.

Delivered as full‐day sessions, workshops will cover a wide range of topics from digital marketing and social media to those Sam will deliver on cloud, cyber security and remote working. Each workshop aims to equip delegates with a practical action plan they can take away to improve business practices.

An additional series of awareness‐raising seminars, one‐to‐one support and grant funding are also available to help businesses invest in growing digitally.

To qualify, businesses must be located in one of the above counties, employ less than 250 employees and achieve annual turnover below 50 Million Euros.

Additionally, Sam will host a number of cyber security workshops across South Yorkshire under the Superfast South Yorkshire Digital Programme, which is also overseen by East Midlands Chamber and due to run until November 2018.

As East Midlands Chamber Patrons, Air‐IT are not only thrilled to strengthen their association with the leading business support organisation in the region but to help the local SME community benefit from these exciting initiatives.

Jon Egley, Digital Growth Manager at East Midlands Chamber comments:
We are really excited about working with Sam. Cyber Security is a really important topic to highlight to SMEs. Our workshops aim to inform SMEs of the risks and threats that could potentially harm a business, as well as raise awareness and identify key strategies and systems they need to put in place to make their business Cyber resilient.

Sam Reed, Chief Technology Officer at Air‐IT adds:
I’m delighted to be on board with the Digital Growth Programme and look forward to being involved. The range of events on offer will help local businesses improve their digital footprint, identify opportunities and address key business considerations, from the decisions of which technologies and platforms to adopt to managing risks such as those associated with cyber security to help them respond and plan in a way which is meaningful to their businesses.

 Cyber Resilience Week 2017

Having completed a successful pilot phase that started in February this year, Phase one of the Digital Growth Programme commenced in September. Further events have been scheduled during Cyber Resilience Week, which is being held from 11 – 15 September 2017.

During this week, Sam will be joint hosting ‘Cyber Resilience for SME’s’ with East Midlands Chamber Business Crime Manager, Andy Watterson.

The event aims to help business owners, managers and employees in SME organisations, and those who wish to develop their understanding of cyber security, risks and business continuity.

This session will run as a one‐off Breakfast Seminar on Thursday 14 September, at BioCity in Nottingham.
