Superfast Leicestershire

superfast leicestershire

Superfast Leicestershire is an £18.8m project led by Leicestershire County Council and part funded by European Regional Development Fund to bring superfast fibre broadband to as many premises in Leicestershire as possible. The project will deliver high-speed fibre broadband to 96% of homes and businesses in Leicestershire by March 2016.

Leicestershire County Council is working in partnership with BT Openreach, Government, district and borough councils and economic bodies to achieve this. It is estimated that public investment in broadband could generate economic growth in Leicestershire of £92m by 2021.

To support this development and to highlight the business benefits of adopting Superfast Broadband the Chamber’s eBusiness Club team will deliver the following fully funded services:

A Programme of events, demonstrations, workshops and conferences including:

- A series of two hour Seminars and demonstations which provide businesses with awareness of existing an emerging technologies to improve sales and productivity and are delivered across Leicestershire

- A series of full-day ‘boardroom’ style action planning e-business related workshops attracting up to 15 delegates per session. These Workshops help SMEs scope and implement their own ebusiness strategies
